What is it?

A Room Leader is often there as the first line of support to early years practitioners and provides line management, supervision and support for their teams. Room Leaders supervise individuals, teams, or elements of a project, or a combination of these. They offer direction, instructions, and guidance to achieve set goals.

They are vital for the smooth running of a setting and are often responsible for ensuring that the EYFS statutory framework requirements are correctly administered and maintained in line with their settings procedures. Room Leaders understand how their role supports the broader setting structure and apply codes of practice, legislation, and regulations relevant to their settings’ areas of operation.
