Apply for an Apprenticeship

Some common questions from employers

An apprenticeship is a way for young people and adult learners to earn while they learn in a real job, gaining a real qualification, relevant work experience and a bright future. Apprenticeships help businesses grow their own talent – 96% of employers report benefits to their business when taking on an apprentice, 82% of businesses report improved productivity and employee satisfaction as result of hiring an apprentice. Businesses that take on apprentices view them as a more long-term development opportunity as they allow the learner to progress to higher roles in the future.

Apprentices spend at least 20 percent of their working time being trained, but a higher quality apprenticeship may offer more. Typically, this means that the learner will receive one day of training per week, two half days or one week of training per month. Time spent on training is included as part of your regular working hours. It’s important that learners are given the proper amount of time to learn new skills and further their understanding of the job.

The best part of an apprenticeship is that the course and programme is funded 95% from the Government. This means that as an employer you only need to contribute 5%. To find out the cost of an apprenticeship and the contribution you need to make as an employer, get in touch.
