Introduction

Early Years Educators play a crucial role in young children’s lives, ensuring they learn, develop, and stay healthy and safe. These professionals, who may also work as nursery nurses and childminders, work in various settings such as full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools, reception classes, and as childminders. They may work independently or supervise others, delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements set by the Government for children aged 0-5 years.

As part of the Level 3 Early Years Educator course, you will learn the expected patterns of children's development from 0-5 years and gain an understanding of further development from age 5 to 7. You'll explore the significance of attachment and how to promote it effectively, as well as the underpinning theories and philosophical approaches to how children learn and develop. You will also learn how to promote diversity, equality, and inclusion in Early Years Educator jobs.

This Level 3 Childcare Course covers systematic synthetic phonics in teaching reading, a range of strategies for developing early literacy and mathematics, and how to support children through transitions and significant events in their lives. You will also gain an understanding of the current early education curriculum requirements such as the Early Years Foundation Stage and additional support for children whose progress is less than expected.

Throughout the Early Years courses, you will develop key attitudes and behaviours such as care and compassion, teamwork, honesty, trust, integrity, commitment, and working in a non-discriminatory way. You will also learn how to ensure your working practices take into account fundamental British values.

The gateway meeting marks the end of the on-program learning and the completion of the End Point Assessment Toolkit. At this meeting, the learner, employer, and Skills Tutor will agree that the learner meets the requirements of the standard and is ready for the end-point assessment.

The end-point assessment will be completed by an independent end-point assessor from an EPA Organization. This assessment includes a professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence and a knowledge test with multiple-choice questions and scenarios.

The Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship is delivered through interactive live online sessions with expert teachers and peers. It also includes face-to-face visits for observations, monthly online sessions with a dedicated Skills Coach, and online interactive courses with NoodleNow.
