So, you want to work in early years … you just don’t know where to start

If you want to make a lasting impact on children’s lives, there are a number of ways to get started, including:

  • An apprenticeship
  • Volunteering
  • Working towards a degree or qualification in a relevant field e.g., BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies
  • Applying to a role directly, highlighting experience and transferable skills and qualifications

Nursery Assistant / Apprentices are responsible for the planning and supervising fun and educational activities.

Nursery Nurse

The Nursery Nurse helps to create a safe and supportive environment where children can learn and grow, playing an important role in building relationships with children and their families.

The Room Leader play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children, working closely with parents and guardians to ensure that each child’s individual needs are met.

SENCO

The Special Educational Needs Coordinator supports children with special educational needs & disabilities (SEND), working closely with nursery staff, parents, and other professionals.

Deputy Manager

The Deputy Manager is a senior member of staff who is responsible for supporting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, working closely with the Nursery Manager to develop and implement nursery policies and procedures, and overseeing the work of other nursery staff, providing training and support.
